Bar Palmares, El Parque: this bar located off the main square is possibly the best people watching place in Vinales. It is no more than a quiosk with a few tables but the location is prime. It serves cocktails, other beverages and snacks. A nice place to have a sandwich or some croquettes with a drink and watch the world go by.
Las Brisas: located on main street, this overbright typical Cuban restaurant offers typical Cuban main course food. No sandwiches or snacks and menu varies daily. Pork and fried chicken are specialties.

Eating out in Viñales
Until recently, all eatieries were state run and were mostly confined to the hotels and tourist attractions. Typical Cuban fare consists of rice, beans, vegetables, salad and mostly chicken, fish or pork. Lobster and beef are sometimes available. Bar food can be varied and most commonly found are sandwiches, spaghetti, pizza, burgers and fried chicken as well as plates of diced ham and cheese as an aperitif. Lovers of ham and cheese will be happy, vegetarians less so.
Sample prices: paladars are, for the most part, cheaper than the state run restaurants and the average price for a meal is around 6-8 CUC. Tourist venues, hotels and state run restaurants offer meals from 10 CUC upwards. Lobster is always slightly more expensive. Snacks, fried chiken, pizzas, spagetti won't cost more than 5 CUC. Sandwiches vary from venue to venue from 2-3.50 CUC.
